NEW COMPLEX THANAKHA GALLERY IN BAGAN (30 March, 2009)

At Thanakha Gallery comprises showroom exhibits about Thanakha, Myanmar Handicraft souvenir shop, Beauty and Health Care Center, Restaurant and Bar, One Dollar shop and Internet Café.
It has been opened recently and only shop of this kind in the world said the owner, Shwe Pyi Nann Company, which is the largest Thanakha products producer in Myanmar.
Variety of interesting factors relating to the Thanakha has been shown. The unique is a 100 years old biggest Thanakha tree.
Items available in Myanmar’s Handicraft souvenir shop are Myanmar Thanakha, Lacquer wares, rattan wares, bamboo wares, parasol wood bark paintings and Jewelleries.
You can enjoy hair cut, massage and Thanakha spa at Beauty Saloon and Health care. There also has a Restaurant and Bar offers European, Thai, Chinese and Myanmar cuisine.
At the large and tidy Internet Café of 20 people capacity variety of services such as oversea phone call, VZO chatting, MIRC chatting are offered.

THINGYAN FESTIVAL’S JOYOUS TOOLS FOR CHILDREN (25 March, 2009)

This is the preparation time for children and fun-like people to play water in water festival. Children are holding something on their hands and these are the things to play water with it. It is a kind of toy guns or water pipe or some of colorful buckets and rod like structure water hose which are mostly used tools during water festival period. Some are holding like a rocket in color but they are made of plastic and it only come out water from it. When the people draw near to them, they start to throw water at them and uproar with joyous voices. Every year, the children’s tools are newly design to attract the Thingyan Lover children. It is being a joyous moment and the most festivity time for all Myanmar people. In this year there are many new things producing with creative sense for children and that can take hold of the children’s heart. In this year very new Thingyan Play things are really attract the children!!

MAI DAILY FLIGHT TO BANGKOK (18 march, 2009)

MAI will be commencing its daily Flight to Bangkok from 29th March, 2009 for the convenience of the travelers. Before it was flying to Bangkok 5 days a week except Thursday and Sunday at 11:00 from Yangon and 13:35 from Bangkok in local time. Now it will fly daily as per below schedule.

Daily schedule: Yangon-Bangkok 8M-331 18:55-20:40
                       Bangkok-Yangon 8M-332 17:25-18:10

NOVITIATION CEREMONY (16 march, 2009)

Novitiation Ceremony is the unique characteristic in Myanmar. This ceremony usually celebrates during the school holidays, mostly in summer holidays at March & April before the water festival. In the Myanmar tradition the boys are compulsory to enter the Buddhist order for a week or more.
In the Myanmar Buddhist tradition it is compulsory that every boys over eight years old to twenty have to enter the Buddhist Order for a week or more as a novice and over twenty they have to enter the Order again as Ordained Monk. At least enter twice as Novice and sometimes even more.
They stay at a monastery whether there are meditation sessions or not, is not considered a hardship because it is a blessing for the whole family as well as for the boys themselves. Novitiation is the obligation for every parent, rich or poor, since it is believe to be a great meritorious deed which could prevent them to be at the evil realm.

FANTASTIC NEW YEAR FESTIVAL OF MYANMAR (12 march, 2009)

The hot days of the year spontaneously stimulate the people of Myanmar to be prepared for their famous water festival (Thingyan). Thingyan songs starting everywhere and young people imagine and planning to enjoy the water festival. Water festival of Myanmar is unique in the world which International people appreciate and enjoy.

This year water festival falls on 13th to 16th April, 2009. Between these days young people throw water to another and some goes to pagodas and do the good deeds and keep the Sabbath. Myanmar New Year Day is 17th April and on that day Myanmar people do meritorious deeds such as offering food to the monks at the monasteries, free animals like bird, fish and cattle. As well as shampoo and clipping nails to the old people.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS OF MYANMAR SCHOOLS (7 march, 2009)
